USA Hockey has launched an exciting event, an event that it
is calling “Try Hockey for Free Days.” The organization confirmed
the event and announced the official dates.
The event will take place for the first time nationwide on
November 4th, 2017. This event will serve as sort of a launch for
the organization’s Come Play Hockey Month. Those who can’t make that date,
however, don’t need to despair. Another date has also been announced- March 3,
2018, which is the weekend right after the XXIII Olympic Winter Games’ closing
ceremony. USA hockey is hoping this will work as “perfect timing” to draw
attention to the sport and garner interest.
Any interested youth hockey associations and/or rinks are
invited to register to host events on these dates. Those who register will
receive training, promotional materials, official jerseys, and more! The goal
of these events is to welcome others into the sport and the joys it has to
offer, so any organizations interested in furthering this mission are more than
welcome to visit USA Hockey’s official site for registration details.
Other opportunities are also available for those wishing to
further promote the advancement of the sport. One such example is the “2 and 2
Challenge,” through which USA Hockey provides partnering organizations with the
resources necessary to boost hockey participation for young players.
Organizations that successfully implement the program by adding two new players
and retaining two more than they did in the previous season will be eligible to
receive various incentives.
Obviously, there are a lot of exciting things happening in
youth hockey right now, and the great thing is that your organization can
easily be a part of them just by registering and learning more!
